Startups leaded by women account for a third of contributions made in Latin America

According to a study on Venture Capital & Tech trends in Latin America carried out by the Latin American Association of Private Equity & Venture Capital (LAVCA), in partnership with Microsoft and Bertha Capital, the volume of investment invested in startups led by women grew to 31% in 2022. In 2019, the number was just 16%.

Brazil is one of the countries that reflected the increase in the study, with growth from 15% to 30% of contributions in the same period. The highlight for the amount was mainly the HRTechs Gupy and Sólides, both consolidated by women.

The data reveal advances to reduce the gap in the technology market, with an intersectional look to guarantee greater diversity in investments, but the way to go is still long.
