On 11/25, the “Departamento Integração e Registro Empresarial” (DREI) published Normative Instruction DREI/ME No. 79/2022, which changes and simplifies the procedures for authentication of the accounting and corporate books of individual entrepreneurs and business companies by “Juntas Comerciais” of the Country.

The amendments provided for in IN/DREI nº 79/2022 seek to provide greater objectivity and practicality to the authentication of social books, mainly regarding the possibility of authenticating blank social books, before the time of bookkeeping or completion, as provided for by the Civil Code.

This is a measure of simplification and facilitation of business registration rules, and it is important that businessmen maintain their regular bookkeeping, as this serves as an instrument of defense, control and preservation of assets.
