According to a quarterly survey carried out by KPMG and the “Associação Brasileira de Private Equity e Venture Capital” (ABVCAP), fintechs and insurtechs were the types of companies that received the most investments made by VCs between April and June of this year, representing 21% of operations. RetailTechs and HealthTechs ranked next at 12% and 11% respectively.
Also, according to the survey, contributions by Private Equity (PE) and Venture Capital (VC) funds to Brazilian companies reached BRL 16.5 billion in the second quarter of this year, 17.8% higher than the BRL 14 billion in the same period of 2021.
The study also revealed that the volume of industry investments from January to June this year reached R$ 28.1 billion, a figure 13.8% greater than in the first half of last year.
