According to a survey by the agency Reuters, there is at least 200 e-books launched on Amazon´s website that had ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence (AI) developed by OpenAI, as an author and co-author. It is likely, however, that the real number is way bigger.

As a general rule Amazon doesn´t demand that the authors disclose whether the book was written by an artificial intelligence or not, only that those autors obbey the intellectual property rules.

While e-books that point to ChatGPT as an author represent a small part of the 1.4 million books published on Amazon, it is expected this scenario to quicky change.

According to a pronouncement, the company doesn´t intend to change their current policies regarding the use of AI, as long as the rights of intellectual property and other applicable legislation are respected.
